FOOD;11:19 PM

Other than music, there are also other things that youngster are looking for. In today’s society, FOOD and DRINKS are part of our life. But getting the finest quality on food and drinks are still debatable.

We all know that getting good food comes with expensive price to pay. As a student, I will not spend too much money on food. However, my classmate, Aaron, spent $250 on food. It was then I found out he ate in a restaurant. A good restaurant. Well, not everybody could afford to dine-in in an expensive restaurant like Aaron.

Nowadays, people are getting more conscious on their everyday diet. All sort of organic food and promotion of healthy lifestyle are getting into the head of most of the people in Singapore. However, this is over one side of the picture. I wonder if you see another side of the picture, which I personally think that it is quite a serious issue – Fastfood.

Considering the quality of Fastfood, the only good thing I can think about is the deliciousness of the crispy and spicy chicken from Kentucky Chicken and the also the short amount of time I need to wait for my food. That’s why it is call Fastfood. From this angle, we can see can quality is not as important anymore. This is because what is stack on top of quality, is time. There is a common phrase” A hungry man is like a angry bear.” Indeed, I think Norman is one of them. Coming back, Fastfood might not be able to provide good quality food. To most of the people, we know that fastfood are junk food. We are also being reminded not to eat too much before we turn fat. Not just applying in Singapore, over at England, there are also problems in kid’s diet. I remembered watching a show called “ Jamie’s school dinner.”. Jamie Oliver is a famous chef who uses good quality food. He make use of this good quality food and come up with creative and delicious food receipts.

This is another angle that we are looking at whereby good quality food is being appreciate and used in a useful way. But, there is one point I need to make. Not everyone appreciate good quality food. In case you are curious about this group that do not adore good food, they are CHILDREN. It was shown in the show that they hated Jamie oliver changing the school’s menu. What they want are fries and burgers. If we step back and take a look at the full picture, not everyone has a good view in good quality food. Different kinds of perceptions are being put into the issue and different opinions cause many debates. What is it that has cause this when somebody is just out there trying to help?

Since we come to a topic on school’s menu, I was wondering if students are looking for good quality food in school too? As a student in RP, I reckon that I did. I wouldn’t like to buy my meal which taste bad. I believe other students too.
I suddenly thought of a country where food is very much appreciated.

ITALY.
They love food. They buy the freshest vegetables and best meat to provide the family with delicious and mouth watering meals at home. They can spend more than 2hours having ONE meal. They care about family cohesion and home-cooked food is very popular over there. I was pondering, do many of our Singaporean youths get to eat home-cooked food or, getting to eat home-cooked food everyday?
